The Wyoming EHDI Program works to promote the importance of both hearing health and hearing screenings for Wyoming’s newborns, toddlers, and preschoolers.

 

Hear This, Wyoming!

In 2013, we are offering on-site trainings in Riverton (September 26th-27th), Torrington (October 17th-18th), and Sheridan (November 21st-22nd).  The training sessions described below are available at each site.

 

1) Hearing Screening Training: Obtaining, Interpreting, Referring, and Following Up on Hearing Screening Results for Wyoming Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers

- Riverton: September 26, 2013; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

- Torrington: October 17, 2013; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

- Sheridan: November 21, 2013; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

This training session is designed for hearing screeners, hearing screening data managers, speech language pathologists, hospital nurses, parents, and anyone else interested in the hearing health of children under the age of five (administrators, early childhood specialists, etc.).  The instructors for this session are a) Nancy Pajak, MS, CCC-A, b) Susan Fischer, MS, CCC-SLP, and c) Bradley Bakken, PhD.

 

2a) The Hearing Health History (HHH) System: How to Use the Wyoming EHDI Tracking System and How it Can Help You*

- Riverton: September 27, 2013; 8:00 am to 12:15 pm

- Torrington: October 18, 2013; 8:00 am to 12:15 pm

- Sheridan: November 22, 2013; 8:00 am to 12:15 pm

This training session is intended for hearing screeners, hearing screening data managers, hospital nurses, and anyone else who uses (or wants to use) the HHH System (audiologists, etc.).  Nancy Pajak, MS, CCC-A and Bradley Bakken, PhD are the instructors for this session.

 

2b) Appropriate Early Intervention Case Management for Wyoming Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers with Hearing Loss*

- Riverton: September 27, 2013; 8:00 am to 12:15 pm

- Torrington: October 18, 2013; 8:00 am to 12:15 pm

- Sheridan: November 22, 2013; 8:00 am to 12:15 pm

This training session is designed for speech language pathologists, family service coordinators, and anyone else providing services to children from birth to five years of age (early childhood specialists, parents, etc.).  The instructor for this session is Susan Fischer, MS, CCC-SLP.

 

*Training sessions 2a and 2b run concurrently; you may only register for one.

Thanks to funding from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services), there is no cost to register or attend.  Applications for continuing education credit have been made to the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB), Statewide Training and Resource System (STARS), and the Wyoming Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology.
